Legend has it that Blake Island is the birthplace of Chief Seattle. This island treasure is just 8 miles from the Seattle waterfront and offers visitors a chance to hike, beachcomb, or camp between the old growth forest and the sandy saltwater shores. The island’s campsites offer a wonderful safe environment to introduce the world of camping and hiking to children. The island is home to deer, mink, otter, bald eagles, kingfishers, and great blue herons. Suggested tour time is 4 hours.

Directions:
By Car: Going South on I-5: Take Columbia/James Street exit (#165A). Take first right on Columbia Street. Go to bottom of hill, staying in right lane. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Go 4 1/2 blocks and Pier 55 will be on the left.
Going North on I-5: Take Madison Street exit. Turn left on Madison Street. Go to bottom of hill. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Pier 55 will be on the left.
Going West on I-90: Take I-5 North to the Madison Street exit. Turn left on Madison Street. Go to bottom of hill. Turn right under the Alaskan Way viaduct (the elevated freeway). Pier 55 will be on the left.
