You don’t have to bet the big money to enjoy a day at the races at Emerald Downs. There’s plenty of excitement even if you don’t play the ponies at all, although the excitement of the Thoroughbred’s pounding hooves may make it hard not to place at least a tiny wager. Live racing takes place April through October and Simulcasting is available year-round.

The welcoming park offers wagering lessons for racing novices. Those with kids in tow will enjoy Family Sundays in the summer with pony rides and face painting, and the arcade will keep older children entranced year-round. For a more sophisticated experience, the luxury Triple Crown Suites atop the grandstand dazzle with unobstructed views of Mt. Rainier.
