Entry with the Go Seattle Card
The Volunteer Park Conservatory in north Capitol Hill is located in a beautiful forty-four acre Olmsted-designed park. The Victorian style 6,200 square foot glass-house was built in 1912 and is open every day year-round. The Conservatory features one of the largest public orchid collections in the country and an equally impressive extensive bromeliad collection. A favorite with visitors of all ages is the Cactus House, in bloom from April through June and truly like a trip to the desert. Special seasonal displays adorn the conservatory throughout the year—chrysanthemums in the fall, bulbs and fuchsias in the spring, passion flowers and brugmansias in the summer are just a sampling of what visitors can see.
Tip: Restrooms are located adjacent to the Conservatory. Additional donations are accepted.
