Gilman Town Hall Museum
and Issaquah Depot

Located in Issaquah’s first town hall, the Gilman Town Hall Museum features rotating exhibits on the history of Issaquah from the time the first white settlers arrived in the 1860s to the present day. An old-fashioned kitchen displays household objects from the 1880s through the 1950s and brings back memories of grandmother’s house. Touch tables let children play with artifacts like a butter churn and 19th-century phone, and a dress-up box is sure to inspire laughter and imagination. The highlight of the Town Hall is the 1914 jail out back, complete with 80-pound locking bar.

The nearby Issaquah Depot was built in 1889 and still features its original floorboards and century-old hobo graffiti. Exhibits tell of the railroad’s role in shaping Issaquah. Explore an old caboose and other rolling stock, and see a model train layout that both kids and adults enjoy.

By Car: From I-90, take exit 18. Turn onto Sunset Way and proceed through historic downtown Issaquah. At the four-way stop, take a left onto Second Avenue. At the next intersection, take a right onto Andrews Street. The museum is on the left.
